BUSINESS: Experiences Matter Most

Experiences matter most. Get those right, and everything else will follow!

We've all been there: at a social event when someone asks, "What do you do for work?" You respond, "I work in Fintech," only to quickly see eyes glaze over. Despite our best efforts to make things interesting, the complexities of finance—especially with the added layer of technology—often leave people baffled and, dare I say, uninterested. Or maybe that's just me, I hope not? Constructive feedback welcome…

This got me thinking about how we translate our work from the complex to something more relatable and engaging. It boils down to one simple word: Experience. Shifting the narrative from 'Fintech speak’ to the experiences we create helps demystify what Fintech means. It turns complex payment language into human experiences that resonate with both our prospects and customers—and better might make you the life of the party.

So instead of saying "I work in Fintech":

  • Earned Wage Access (EWA)? We help gig workers get paid securely and on time, sometimes before the work is done.

  • Card Payments? We make it possible for people to buy their weekly groceries, gas, a trip to the cinema, or to pay for their DoorDash all on a single debit card.

  • Lending? We help small business owners grow their products and services through improved cash flow

  • Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)? We enable people to buy what they need now and pay for it in pre-approved monthly instalments, providing them with access to essentials now and enabling a controlled repayment environment

  • Banking as a Service (BaaS)? We help companies build propositions that offer people who have historically been underserved the ability to open a bank account and utilize banking services, save money and build credit.

It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of building Fintech products and forget about the incredible experiences we are creating. Important to not lose sight of that.

Looking forward to less ‘Fintech speak’ and more ‘Experience speak’ when we next connect!
